We are a group of researchers working across atmospheric science to understand the chemical and dynamical processes in the Earth’s troposphere and stratosphere that underpin key environmental issues. We tackle research questions at a range of scales, including urban air pollution and impacts on human health to global scale changes in atmospheric composition that affect climate and the ozone layer. In addition to working in the lab and field, a major focus of our work is on the development and application of process-based numerical models, including air quality forecast models, biosphere-atmosphere exchange models and state-of-the-art chemistry-climate models. Drawing on recent advances in data science, key ideas from critical social science, and engagement with communities, businesses and decision makers, our work has a strong transdisciplinary focus. The group work closely with wide range of stakeholders in and outside of academia with impact and engagement a key focus of our science.
